That's right, time for an update. True, I haven't updated my journal in what feels like a millennium and I haven't done a proper sketch, drawing or illustration in an equal amount of time, I have still been online and haven't forgotten my DeviantArt. The reason for my lack of updates is rather simple... my priorities have shifted, what I do has changed and my life style as a whole has changed. In all honesty, stress is picking up, work load is increasing and my smile is getting broader and broader, I love what I do and that's the truth of it as simple as that.
At Woodheads (the company where I work), *my* studio is increasing in size and I'm getting new and bigger toys. The boss and I are excited as small children the week before Christmas (or Hanukkah in his case). From taking the risk and giving me a laser cutting and engraving machine three years ago, spending the hours expanding an idea into a business we're expanding and planning on bringing in some of the fanciest, sexiest, slickest and most bad ass machinery in the work into my studio.
To compliment what I've been doing for the past three years, we'll be bringing in two pieces of equipment. One is a large format digital printer (I'm not a printer so not excited about that one) and the other is a cutting edge cutting machine, the SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMA F SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (woohooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! I'm a worker, it cuts, it drills, I love it XD)
This is the machine that is bringing Christmas early to me. We have the chance to work with the technicians and rebuild the machine to fit our needs, I've seen both machines in action and do believe me, I am much exited about these developments on the mdachine side.
On the personal side I don't do as many illustrations as before simply because life is...well life is hectic, I love my job and as such, my energy goes there and because of that, I don't have the energy to dedicate to my illustrations like before. In all honesty, that's cool, when I used to draw lady zombies, I know spend me time designing new bags for my clients and freaking loving it.
The best part of it is designing these bags, taking them from the basic sketch at the beginning and developing them into a product. It's problem solving and I love it
On the personal leather project, I have an ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaze-balls project on the line, one that I'm super keen to begin and I'm just waiting on that sloppy sucker of a hide to arrive and then we will begin
Till then, whoever happens to read this, I wish you the best and may you find your passion
