That's right, time for an update. True, I haven't updated my journal in what feels like a millennium and I haven't done a proper sketch, drawing or illustration in an equal amount of time, I have still been online and haven't forgotten my DeviantArt. The reason for my lack of updates is rather simple... my priorities have shifted, what I do has changed and my life style as a whole has changed. In all honesty, stress is picking up, work load is increasing and my smile is getting broader and broader, I love what I do and that's the truth of it as simple as that.

At Woodheads (the company where I work), *my* studio is increasing in size and I'm getting new and bigger toys. The boss and I are excited as small children the week before Christmas (or Hanukkah in his case). From taking the risk and giving me a laser cutting and engraving machine three years ago, spending the hours expanding an idea into a business we're expanding and planning on bringing in some of the fanciest, sexiest, slickest and most bad ass machinery in the work into my studio.

To compliment what I've been doing for the past three years, we'll be bringing in two pieces of equipment. One is a large format digital printer (I'm not a printer so not excited about that one) and the other is a cutting edge cutting machine, the SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMA F SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (woohooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! I'm a worker, it cuts, it drills, I love it XD)

This is the machine that is bringing Christmas early to me. We have the chance to work with the technicians and rebuild the machine to fit our needs, I've seen both machines in action and do believe me, I am much exited about these developments on the mdachine side.

On the personal side I don't do as many illustrations as before simply because life is...well life is hectic, I love my job and as such, my energy goes there and because of that, I don't have the energy to dedicate to my illustrations like before. In all honesty, that's cool, when I used to draw lady zombies, I know spend me time designing new bags for my clients and freaking loving it.

The best part of it is designing these bags, taking them from the basic sketch at the beginning and developing them into a product. It's problem solving and I love it :D

On the personal leather project, I have an ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaze-balls project on the line, one that I'm super keen to begin and I'm just waiting on that sloppy sucker of a hide to arrive and then we will begin :D

Till then, whoever happens to read this, I wish you the best and may you find your passion :D

There's been no real updates on my side over the past few weeks... the silly season has fully hit us at work with a ludicrous amount of clients coming at us, wanting quotes, cutting, lasering and all the usual stuff, just with tight deadlines and large volumes so I've been kept ridiculously busy of late.

On the drawing sides, well they've had to take a bit of a back seat for now in order to manage my work load, but there's a couple of new fully inked sketches that I just need to digitise before posting. Hopefully in the coming weeks things will settle down a bit and I'll get the chance to finalise everything. There's a new Ratssassin on the way, the dwarf has been finished and an update for our AM Studios cover photo in the works which should look really awesome once it's all done and dusted.

What I have finished and I'm  fairly chuffed with myself about is Card Holder Ver 2.0 :woohoo:

The design has been vastly improved over the original, the stitching is slightly better (just want to neaten it up a bit) and it feels a heck of a lot more secure and more manly... plus it was done out of natural veg tanned Brazilian bovine which is really awesome leather to work with.

I'll be posting some photos of the sexy bugger (hopefully) in the coming days and then onto my next leather project. I'm thinking of making myself a billfold wallet next :D

So, been a while since I've posted a journal, not too much has happened that warrants a mention. My drawing style is once again shifting and changing, with my ink work as well as digital stuff looking a lot better and more consistent :D

But there are new lands of craft on the horizon that bears much excitement. I'm moving more and more into the pattern making side of work here at my company and am learning more of the leather craft which is pretty damn awesome :woohoo:

The first project that I've completed is my brand spanking new, super slick looking card holder ver.1.0, which, after having looked at the patterns and actually made one, I see that there will be a ver.2.0 coming out soon, but that will come in due time. Now I just need to figure out my next project, I'm looking at either making a laptop bag or perhaps a small pouch for gaming dice.

- For each of the 10 first people answering this journal, I will put their avatar and the three deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!

- If you answer, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on the first place. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone.

Yes, it's finally coming and it's all starting in Russia... and this time, without any super virus or nuclear apocalypse first.

Seems that there's a new drug on the market called "Krokodil" which is a heroin substitute which according to the interweb is concocted by:

"The substance can be concocted by crushing codeine tablets, which are widely available, and mixing them with substances like petrol, red phosphorous and hydrochloric acid."

Which sounds like a whole barrel of fun by itself, but the fun part comes in here, the drug pretty much causes the user's flesh to essentially rot away, making them look pretty much like (warning, graphic images) zombies

So, according to my magical maths abilities and theorems of complete bullocks, this must surely mean that:  cracks heads + flesh eating drug  = ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!!!

Zombies Horde Zombies Horde Zombies Horde Zombies Horde
